I'm John Byrne — resident career advisor of The Stage, the world's longest established stage and screen publication. In addition to my own career as a successful performer and broadcaster, I am a talent agency director and long-time career advisor to actors, performers, and other creatives. Over the past two decades, I’ve helped thousands of actors take the next right step in their career. Not by handing out unrealistic promises, but by listening, supporting, and offering tailored, honest advice that gets results.

I’ve worked with drama school students, mid-career freelancers, late starters, burnt-out artists, and ambitious beginners. I know how hard this industry can be — and how to navigate it with clarity, confidence, and your integrity intact.
